With reference to your No. 2353. I shall keep Major

Pritchard and 80 rank and file R.G.A. here in readiness to

proceed home. I am making arrangements for the completion of the Artillery establishment here by the employment of additional two officers and 50 rank and file, Hong Kong Volunteers, and the

following number of Indian Infantry for anamition details, 3 Indian officers and 90 rank and file. These Indian officers are

intended only for the purpose of discipline. I propose to pay one rupee monthly extra pay to Indian troops exclusive of officers. Please cable if you approve of this.
